RESIST 2025
50 Ways Rockbridge started when Donald Trump was first elected. On the day of his second inauguration, this new page is dedicated to new about people and organizations who resist his agenda. For links to such organizations, check our Activism 102 page. If you have suggestions about resources to include, write to us at our email or Facebook page.

How do we resist?
One-two-three steps at a time
Hello, again!
We’ve heard back from a number of you that you appreciate getting a to-do list to easily tackle, so here we are again.
Thank you for calling Ben Cline. We can’t tally up how many calls we made – perhaps we should figure out how to do that, eh? – but we thank you for not sleeping on it, as our adopted congresswoman, Rep. McClellan of Richmond, would say.
Three steps: #1 Support schools

We are working to support our county and city school boards as they develop policies and statements about protecting schools and students from immigration enforcement efforts.
We urge people to write to their local members and encourage their work.
Contact information: Rockbridge County School Board | Lexington City School Board | Buena Vista School Board
Also, it's always a good idea to attend school board meetings to keep up with how they are handling policies. The Rockbridge County School Board meets at the county offices, 150 S. Main St., on March 11, at 5:30. The Lexington City School Board next meets March 12 at 5:30 at Harrington Waddell Elementary School gymnasium. The Buena Vista School Board meets on March 20 at 6:00 at the Ramsey Center, 2062 Magnolia Ave.
#2 Community forum about immigration
50 Ways Rockbridge and the W&L Law School's Immigrant Rights Clinic invite you to a community forum to learn about the changing conditions for immigrants in our county, state and nation.
If you have any questions you’d like the presenter to answer or issues you’d like to see addressed, you can submit them in advance by clicking here.
#3 Next meeting March 20, 5:30 p.m.

The next group meeting of 50 Ways Rockbridge will be held at Hillel House on Thursday, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. Please put it on your calendar.
